Lake Jackson Pumpkin Patch

We finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch this year, I was holding out for cooler weather but South Texas is a funny place.  You just never know what the fall season will bring weather-wise, but luckily it was much nicer than it has been.  There weren't many pumpkins to choose from since we waited so late to go, but we still had a blast and Seth tolerated the sweater even though it has been at least 9 months since he has worn long sleeves.  Here are a couple of my favorites, I hope to post more in the next few days.

Aggie Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we spent a fun afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch in College Station, TX.   Seth loves when he gets to see Briley and it is fun to watch them run around laughing and playing.  Seth is tired of posing for me, but magically when I start taking pics of Briley he suddenly shows interest.  I have posted a few of the pics we took as well as some of the storyboards I am using now.

Briley N

Briley is the daughter of friends we met several years ago.  She is the cutest little girl and she was such a great model! Below are a few of the shots I took of her last week while in College Station, TX.

Varner-Hogg Plantation

Seth and I went to the Varner-Hogg Plantation in West Columbia, TX to get some pics of the BlueBonnets.  Prom goers were EVERYWHERE taking photos and they were prepping the main house for a wedding so we were limited to a few areas where we could take pictures.  He was a good sport but he got bored pretty quickly.  Here are a few of my favorite shots..

More Coffeeshop actions from Rita

I had more time today to try out a few of the photo editing actions from the Coffeeshop blog.
I took the same pic and ran it through a few of the actions from the Coffeeshop blog.  They are in order

New Background

I have been dying to take a few pics using my new background but Seth refuses to cooperate. So today I was determined to get something useful.  It is not a well-posed shot but at least he was still so I could get a non-blurred result, the price of this pose in kid currency was one snack sized KitKat : )

I found some good info online about my camera and it helped a lot with the sharpness of my pics.  The default settings were a little soft for my taste.  Also, I used the Perfect Portrait action courtesy of Rita, she is the owner of my new favorite blog the Coffeeshop. If you have Photoshop and are interested she has lots of freebies and tutorials on how to better edit your photos.

I tried out a new logo on this one,  I am still in limbo on the logo issue but I will worry about that tomorrow ~
